no. that's not correct. the whole idea of USA is anti hegemonic power. they won a war of independence to get away form it.
other countries saw how amazing they were and started to emulate
UK vowed to win them back and destroy the idea because it threatened their Empire so much
they killed Presidents
they started the Civil War
they killed more Presidents
but mostly they infiltrated power with people and ideas... Oxford, Cambridge scholars, independent central banking, free market and free trade economists, CIA, FBI, CFR, foundations, think tanks etc
the hegemon is not the USA. they are dumb giant that has been lead around by the undead British Empire.
