misty is in part right - manadrin (cantonese) is very difficcult and even more tricky to read.
"ma" for example has 4 different meanings "mother, horse, weed, swear" and the only way of determining what it means is by the intonation. get it wrong and the listener wont have a clue what you are saying or mean
