I deal with a number of Spanish speakers and they find English extremely difficult when trying to learn the language. They claim the Spanish language has hard and fast and certainly more grammatical constructs than English and therefore, Spanish is a more logical language to learn - if you listen to a sentence in Spanish and then the equivalent in English, the Spanish sentence certainly sounds like it is twice as long (which is perhaps why the Spanish seem to speak twice as fast :).
By contrast, there do appear to be a number of exceptions in the English language that only native speakers seem to understand.
