I do much the same Mr H although more on targets than actual time. The initial target for me with FAR is Production and/ or shareprice, then reassess, if we still exist....
In this particular case it works out at around 7 years but I also have return expectations over that time that I would be happy with, in my case it's 10-15% compound, so the Shareprice would need to be 17-24 c range in 2021 to achieve that and be considered a good or bad invesrment..obviously if those targets were met much earlier the better the return and would need to be reassessed at that time..
I'm very confidant on that being achieved and exceeded but comes with no guarantee...investing never does..with these types of stock nothing can happen for years and then have your target met in the last year, sometimes the best return is the first year and both are dictated largely by timing and luck..untill a share is sold the Shareprice really has no relevance, it's just a paper gain or loss ,although some consider a loss of opportunity cost but that would depend on what happens with the other opportunity ...
Some would laugh and say only 10-15% compound, however that's considerably higher than any low risk investment can offer over a similar timeframe but in the end it's the return of the capital not the return on it that counts and of course is why shares come with risk and I don't think you can realistically assess what a high risk investment return should be but mine is 10-15% compound over the long haul....low risk is 4% flat per annum on a five year term deposit or ? on a blue chip stock with dividends ( they have given very good returns in recent years but in the long haul average nearer 7% compound)
Anyone buying on the FOMO inspired spike which happened after the FAN discovery and expected that to continue hadn't actually taken into account the implications of what is involved in time and money turning that discovery into a saleable asset and we have since had a collapse in the oil price to compound the issues ,I bought a few then as well and should have know better...
Such is life in the share market, I wonder what today will bring.
