Agree with those sentiments green0. In my relative short farming career to date I have seen this type of fluctuation or the knock on effect as you put it. There is only so much land to produce a food commodity and as one offers a premium over another, land is allocated to produce it, which leads to a shortage of other ag commodities and so the cycle continues. Currently we are seeing huge premiums for most grains for a range of reasons, but in my view this will eventually have a knock on effect to red meat prices.
