no onewith any expertise thought the US was about to announce a recession.. thats dribble. the US consumption sector is well known for ticking on 6-9 motnhs past point where job creation drivers have started falling. the miracle of US consumption.

as for gold being non yielding. oil is non yielding - but i dont see you writing that. that phraseology annoys the hell out of me - i see idiots repeating it frequently without knowing what it means. and they work for investment banks and earn 6, occassionally 7 figure salaries

the gold move was only partially a fear trade - what it clearly was is a Nirp trade for non US investors. The fear trade of a stock correction would never drive a $200 spikes - not even close.

but i agree the support is 1200 and then 11180. and i expect the bots to at least test $1200 before the stock market sells off.

but anyone who can look at the US stock market charts on a 10 yr basis and think stocks are sustainably going up from here is defying logic.

it may keep hovering in the inversion layer for a fair while. there seems to be the lack of an obvio=us catalyst for a big fall right now.

but the US market has no valuation support - fallign earnings outlook - and fatigue working against it.

but there's clearly some investment banks tryign to repump the tyres - so its not friendless entirely
