Yes there are six million Jews in the US but they are not going to leave to go and live in Israel, otherwise they would have done so long ago. If you had a choice, which country would you prefer to live in?
And there are not six million Jews around the rest of the world. Most of the world's Jews are concentrated in US and Israel. The country with the next largest population is France with 500,000.
Israel simply cannot lift the number of Jews living in Israel any further by immigration because the great majority of those still available to emigrate are not interested in emigrating.
