I expect reported (i.e. non-normalised) H1 earnings to be a lot lower than those Reuters estimates, as a consequence of a (highly likely) negative investment experience.
If previous guidance is achieved, normalised NPBT for the half year should be around 300m$; if the overall Investment Experience is in the range of -150m$/-300m$ (which looks reasonable to me, all things considered), reported Profit Before Tax will be 0m$/150m$ and reported Profit After Tax 0m$/110m$, or 0.00$/0.18$ per share.
Obviously it is normalised NPBT that matters the most, so I wouldn’t freak out over a near-zero statutory result, unless (as per my previous post) there are signs of permanent value destruction at a Life Investment Portfolio level.
