My best advice to you if you are interested in investing in the sharemarket long term, is to learn how to value a company's shares.

I suggest to you, check out a person called Roger Montgomery, a lot of people are skeptical of his methods, however I am a firm supporter.

Granted, Roger values Telstra below it's current price, where as I value it in the high $3 range, but that's what makes the market so interesting!

This next comment is not to be taken as advice.

If I had bought T1 shares at $3.30 (and honestly, my first purchase of TLS was not much lower than that), and I was still receiving around 8.5% return in dividends, with the opportunities ahead for Telstra, and with the potential of the share price to retest the $4.50 range in the next 12 months or so, then I most certainly would not be selling.

    Good luck with your investing.

My opinions entirely, do your own research.
