I jumped on this stock earlier this year when I was able to get $2.24 AUD when from memory it was the exact same price at the time of an SPP that had occurred just prior (successfully i might add). In the main, I buy and hold all my stocks. I think there is value/margin of safety in this stock at its current price. Like you , i am excited about the exposure to the online casino you get with this business. to best of my knowledge SKC is the only ASX listed stock that can claim this.
one of my portfolio/investing goals is having a 'gaming theme' side/mini portfolio outside of my core portfolio dedicated to all the gaming stocks and buying and holding those which I can obtain at the right price. The following ASX listed stocks have exposure to gaming either directly (or indirectly) and are on my watchlist. Although, note there is a few on this list whilst watching i wouldnt invest in, others i'm just waiting for the 'right price'
AGI,ALL,AQS,BET,CWN,DNA,HPI,JIN,LEP,PBH,RCT,RDC,SGR,SKC and TAH. There is also two global etfs that i know of BETZ ETF and BJK ETF which have the benefit of global exposure.
if you cant beat em, join em!!! but always do your research .... of those named i currently only hold BET, SKC and TAH.
like others have said there is many many sexy stocks out there so people will continue to look for the next afterpay etc dont let that persuade you from sticking to your analysis, ideas and your own goals. I think the numbers on Thursday should be acceptable overall and wouldn't be surprised to see this go higher closer to $3. NZ and SA in the main over the last 6-12 months have had the luxury of good operating conditions and patronage by locals that others didn't have notwithstanding the lack of tourists both local and international will have obviously continue to impact earnings.
The elephant in the room but what is going on with CWN has put a dampener on all casino exposure stocks, further increased regulation for all operators is an unknown which could be both costly and limiting for any operator.
