"between now & mid may, rmp will be minimum 60c (ie roughly double where they are now). this will not depend on successful drilling. this will be based on aim listing, expectation of success & broker coverage. how can you not be happy to double your money in 6 weeks".

Wouldn't be too sure of that.

The RMP broker note ascribes 80c of that $1.33 value to the Nugaal Puntland block, which is currently under dispute with Somaliland and will not be drilled any time soon (that's why AOI signed that agreement with Range to drill 2 Dharoor wells instead of 1 in each basin).

Anyone who's dumping RRS for RMP (and to be fair, you're far from the only one) is effectively getting rid of a company with solid cash flows that will surely improve over the next couple of years to finance unlimited exploration, along with dumping the proven Trinidad areas and the chance of offshore Puntland, all so they get better leverage on 3 drills taking place this year. You're trading the certainty of solid finance and good cashflows for a get-rich-quick shot this year.

Personally I'll happily wait 2 or 3 years for the same outcome, over trying to make it all happen within the next year but taking on loads of risk.

I said at the time that I'd take on some RMP in the 20c placing. Unfortunately they restricted it to high value investors so the majority of us missed out. This represents a decent punt based on risk/reward at the 20c level. Anyone ploughing serious money in at this stage might as well just go down to the casino.

Look beyond the share prices and think about the business model. With RRS you know you've got the funds for continued exploration, and will gain more in the future because of improved cashflow. With RMP there is no such guarantee so you'd best hope one of these 3 drills they're funded for strikes oil or it's all over. Sure, RRS's share price will take a hammering too if those 3 drills don't find oil- but they've got the funds to drill many, many more, so will bounce back and statistically speaking the odds are well in their favour.

The odds are in favour of RMP being a success too as we'll be drilling the 2 positive helium targets first- but it's far from the easy money it's been made out to be, and compared to RRS the risk is sky high.
