Thank you for your explanation about your approach to position sizing.
My own approach to position sizing is actually similar to yours. In fact, my top 4 holdings represents 73% of my total portfolio value. I would classify them as stocks offering adequate return with low downside risk. My previous post was a little misleading as it gave the impression that I consider a 5% allocation as a "fat pitch". This is not the case at all, my fattest pitch, being my no. 1 holding, is about 30% of my portfolio.
Just like yourself, I don't normally invest in resources or mining services companies. Hence, no matter how high my conviction in MND is, there is no way I will allocate as high percentage as one of my top 4 holdings. Because of this aversion towards mining services companies, my fattest pitch in this area will be around 5-7%.
Since my previous post, I have finally pulled the trigger and opened a position in MND!
