The point of this thread was to look back at the spreadsheet where some of us were brave enough to make a forecast.

It wasn't to endorse any particular tone used by cujo - more to say that the most skeptical among us was not skeptical enough, and yet was the most accurate forecast, and needs cudos for having a go in true Aussie spirit!

Despite all the inside gossip and data, the rest of us were dreaming.

I found it interesting that some of the more established hotcopper posters (I won't name names) chose to avoid the forecasting game. Wise? Shy?

Putting a bet down like this is a game of throwing egg at one's own face, but it is an empirical game, and it is fun!

I've enjoyed seeing where the thread took itself. Thanks, and GLTA!! I hope to see you all in Senegal for the after party when we're the same size as Santos ...
