On your logic, RR, many stocks would have Zero value right now. Have you not heard of "the present value of all future income"? That would assign probabilities to all future possible events and the timing of them happening. This is all very problematic, but the values would be positive - certainly very hard to estimate, but positive. How positive will usually be based on sentiment at any time.
