Since November 2021, IMU share prices have experienced a prolonged downtrend. I feel the pain along the way. As a long term investor, especially under current market conditions, I keep asking myself the following questions:
·What are the fundamentals of the company?
oNoise from HC, or
oComments from downramper, or
oArticles written by reporters like Tom Richardson, or
oMarket sentiments, or
oShare prices, or
o none of the above
·What did trigger you to invest in the company at the first place?
·Have these factors faded out during the journey?
·Has something negative happened for both the company and the trials?
·Are you still believing the management team in terms of their integrity, competence, knowledge, experience, industrial network, reputations, etc.
·Are you still believing in the science?
·Do you understand that the science takes time?
·Do you think that doing a trial is as simple as boiling water?
·Do you think that hospital will voluntarily join the trials without considering the efficacy and safety of the drugs?
·Do you think that patients will voluntarily line up for IMU trials if they do not see any potential benefits from the trials.
·Do you think that obtaining US FDA IND is as easy as the certificate you got from primary school graduation ceremony?
·Do you think if any biotech companies in Australia can invite the people like Leslie Chong, Dr Jakob Dupont, Dr Yuman Fong, Dr Pravin Kaumay, etc to join your company, even though you may afford to pay double of what they receive from IMU at the moment?
·Do you think if any biotech companies in Australia can easily license the drugs like CF33, PD1-Vaxx, HER-Vaxx, CF33-CD19 from EU & US medical institutions?
·Does the share price affect the science, either positively or negatively?
·Do you think the comments from HC and/or reports from AFR really outweigh the essays published in those prestigious academic journals?
·Do you think that any reports and posters can be easily presented in conferences like ASGCT, AACR. ASCO, SABC, ESMO, SITC, etc?
·Do you think that people attending the conferences like ASGCT, AACR. ASCO, SABC, ESMO, SITC, etc, just want to catch up with their friends, enjoy a glass of champagne, listen to the presentation as if watch a drama or talk show?
·Do you think that medical institutions like City of Hope is similar to the GP clinic next to your neighbourhood?
·Do you think that the institutional investor who put $80M last year into IMU bank accounts just want to get some shares and then lend to investment bank for shorting?
·Does only IMU suffer from the downtrend among the industry?
·Do you think that biotech industry is no longer needed?
·Do you think that from today onwards no one is going to suffer from cancer and the market for cancer drug is shrinking?
·Do you think that big pharma can manipulate the market and monopolise all creative and novel drug and treatment idea?
·Do you think that discussions and talks for a deal between big pharma and company like IMU are just simple like a blink of an eye?
If you have the answers to the above questions, then you will easily come up with a conclusion: hold or sell under current share price.
Tomorrow is another day and as a long-term investor, I believe that we all know what we want and what the answers to the above questions.
