Your musings of "I'm wondering if the share price decline is not for accumulation but rather preparing us for a takeover." with respect I don't think is right.
YF has historically stated he does not want a takeover as IMU lose control of the IP, big pharma may shelve/price treatment astronomically & inhibit access for a lot of patients. As he is the creator of CF33 I believe his wishes would have to be catered to in any negotiation.
I think licensing deals would be more likely given this scenario, would have the added benefit of possibly partnering with more than 1 BP for different products given they are successful. I believe this arrangement would take longer than a takeover to negotiate & suspect this had something to do with earlier potential deal not eventuating.
Of course this is AIMO & hoping like hell I'm correct.....................
