Hi @RedStar55, This is older technology JX594 using Wyeth parent strain which was developed back in the days of global vaccine development against smallpox. Ph3 (PHOCUS trial) terminated early due to futility. Interesting to compare with CF33 though. CF33 development didn’t include Wyeth strain, possibly because Wyeth was too attenuated as a vaccine (i’m guessing) and Wyeth genome is not well defined due to variations later discovered when genome sequencing technology developed sufficiently. JX594 had TK gene deleted which is a common demonisation in all OVs to increase affinity to cancer. JX594 targeted another gene to increase virulence but it appears to not be effective enough. In many ways JF (and lets not forget the actual virologists who did the work) recognised these limitations and hence embarked on the ‘game of viral thrones’ approach which we all hope is a major advancement.
