Fairly good day for global markets overnight.
In Europe, the FTSE rose 14 points (.2%) - large banks underperformed which muted the market a bit. The DAX rose 79 points (.54%) and the CAC rose 43 points (.63%).
In the US, the DOW rose 204 points (.62%), the NASDAQ Biotech Index had a good day out and rose 54 points (1.46%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 121 points (.93%) and the Russell small cap index closed higher by 15 points (.9%).
Oil prices fell slightly - Brent crude at US$87.97 per barrel.
US 10yr treasury bonds yields also retreated marginally to 4.82%.
US earnings season has seen 77% of companies beating expectations - especially from large companies.
Big tech companies (Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta will release earning reports tomorrow.
