San Francisco is a biotech hub and LC’s old company Genentech is one of 200+ biotechs headquartered in San Francisco.
Have to wonder if these hires are prep work to relocate to San Francisco post-NASDAQ listing or simply setting up an office in a location where it’s highly likely they will find top quality applicants. Whatever the case, given the salaries attached to those positions I don’t see them creating those positions unless there will soon be a big need for them.
