I sort of agree with you here but in the real world, it's not what Merck will pay to buy IMU, but rather what Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb, or Amgen will pay so Merck DOES NOT buy it. Greed can be a wonderful thing. I'm in the realestate business here in New Zealand and I can't tell you how many times I have buyers walk into an auction for a property with a budget in mind however when it comes to either owning the house or not owning it, the budget goes out the window. You just need two people with deep pockets for it to be successful and it's a natural greed to want what someone else wants.
Here's hoping for the 2024 bidding war that we've all been waiting for. Happy and safe New Year to everyone. I thoroughly enjoy reading everyone's contributions.
