I absolutely agree with you on being accurate HB, but that all depends on what articles you are reading & from when they were published, how that data was interpreted.

The concerning thing is that up to 30% of patients experience Grade 3 and above SAEs with Autologous CAR-T. Any admission to hospital on a clinical trial is an SAE, drug related or not for investigation. These CARs are on market but still being monitored by the FDA. Because of these recognised risks, the patients receiving Autologous CAR-Ts are recommended to be monitored life long.

So the FDA aren’t mucking about for nothing with Black Box warnings on Autologous CAR-T on market, including the risk of T-Cell CA later down the track (that’s what this is about). Seriously though, if it was your life on the line & the treatment benefit outweighed the risks, would you take it? I probably would, but it depends on each individual patient & chance of success with treatment.

We probably need to be quite gentle what we say here, because there are people suffering right now.
