Global markets generally up overnight.

In Europe, the FTSE rose 15 points (.20%), the DAX rose 54 points (.31%) and the CAC rose 52 points (.65%).

Bank of England interest rate decision on Thursday - expectations are for no change in interest rates.

In the US, the DOW rose 320 points (.83%), the NBI rose 35 points (.81%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 63 points (.39%) and the Russell small cap index rose 10 points (.54%).

US Fed decision on interest rates due tomorrow. Expectations are for no change. Markets will be concentrating more on any comments about future direction for changes.

Global markets partially influenced (positively) by Japan's decision to abandon it negative interest rate policy. Going from negative .1% to plus .1%. Japanese inflation has been trending between 2 and 2.2% (2.2% is the current figure) for the last 2 years.

Perhaps of some interest to IMU holders given talk that BP is in the acquisitions mood this year. AstraZeneca is looking to acquire the clinical stage oncology group FUSION PHARACEUTICALS for GBP1.9bil (UUD3.7bil). Note that this company is in clinical trial status.

Rising bond yields in the US are starting to concern markets - 4.35% is a technical level where the bond yield adversely impacts stock markets. The US Treasury 10 year bond yield rose as high as 4.32% overnight.

US 10 year bond yield is currently at 4.3%.

Oil prices rose steeply again overnight - Brent cruse at US$87.40 per barrel.

Gold price slipped a bit to US$2,156 per oz.

BITCOIN price fell overnight - down to US$63,792. Recent downward trend is continuing.
