I actually believe that consolidation needs to be done at some time. 8bil shares is ridiculous and will come back to haunt IMU in the future - and probably is already an impediment to most investors looking at IMU.
Great fundamentals but most investors are looking for a quick buck - and may not even take a look at those fundamentals - scared off by the SOI.
I do personally believe that a 10:1 consolidation is appropriate - I have not previously looked at anything bigger I have to admit. Even 15:1 is not over the top. If any future NASDAQ listing is a possibility, then having a 600-800 mil SOI would make that easier - maybe even look like a more exclusive company.
I do realise that consolidations are not popular. It can indicate a company in some difficulties. However, with IMU, it may have the opposite effect as it would help to attract new investment based on IMU's strength in research.
A consolidation also makes it easier for IMU to tap extra funds in the future.
