Well, this the thing TB: Oncolytic viruses in the controlled environment of a test tube generally work better than in humans. Even mouse model xenografts are more controlled. In humans the immune system will clear a virus, potentially before its had time to reach a tumour. Moreover, delivering the OV to a tumour inside a human is more difficult than in vitro due to access problems such as insufficient blood supply in the case of IV, and physical obstacles in the case of IT injections. For IT, even delivering the desired exact dose is problematic (LC told me this in an email). I therefore believe some trials have needed to be redesigned because of the difficulties in delivering the same dose to multiple tumours, thus creating a measurement problem in the analysis. Maybe this is a reason we haven’t received updates as expected- IMU is still sorting out their methodology.

There’s nothing anyone can do except wait for data and explanations.
