CD19t was being expressed by tumor cells much sooner than the virus was able to kill them, giving us a window of opportunity to be targeted by CD19-CAR T cells," said Anthony Park, Ph.D., the study’s lead author and a postdoctoral fellow in Priceman's lab. "The combination of the two had a powerful, synergistic effect.”

Anthony Park was talking about preclinical results, presumably in vitro and perhaps mouse models. Hopefully human trials will demonstrate the onCARlytic virus can tag CD19t onto tumours before the body’s own immune system can clear the virus. We also need to see evidence the OV can be delivered to the targeted tumours ( and wondering how TAMP can help this). I’m confident IMU is headed in the right direction, but we should temper our expectations until the data rolls in of course.
