I know this is a very unpopular concept, but it really is one that needs to be addressed.
I would prefer to see a consolidation before there is any CR.
The SOI is a major concern for any investor and dampens any ability to raise cash. I also hope that any future CR included retail investors.
There is a massive difference between having a company with 1 or 2 billion shares and one with 8 billion shares.
I know people have seen consolidations fail to deliver but they can also do a lot of good.
