The FTSE fell 38 points (.46%), the DAX fell 92 points (.45%) and the CAC fell 52 points (.71%).
Interest rate policy announcements are expected this week from the BoE, the Bank of Japan and the US Fed.
In the US, the DOW fell 110 points (.25%), the NBI rose 34 points (.78%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 247 points (1.24%) and the Russell small cap index rose 15 points (.64%).
Big news was in the cryptocurrency sector. BITCOIN hit record levels overnight (well over US$106k). BITCOIN has surged mor than 50% since the US election. Trump has said that he will "do great thing f crypto currencies". Estimates of $120-150K are floating around in the US.

The gold price is sitting at US$2,651 per oz.
