The ASX won't get much in the way of leads from overseas markets today.
European markets were all closed for the Boxing day holiday.
US markets were subdued overnight. Trading in the US was 45% down from normal figures.
The DOW eked out a small rise of 28 points (.066%), the NBI rose by 28 points (.64%), the NASDAQ Composite fell by 10 points (.054%) and the Russell small cap index rose by 20 points (.90%).
Applications for unemployment benefits in the US are the highest in 3 years though initial jobless claims fell marginally to 219k.
US unemployment at 1.91mil.
Japanese CPI data out this week.
US Treasury 10 yar bond yield is at 4.581%
Oil prices fell - Brent crude at US$72.78 per barrel.
Gold price edged up to US$2,633 per oz.
BITCOIN rose to US$95,333.
