In Europe, the FTSE rose 113 points (1.35%), the DAX rose 248 points (1.20%) and the CAC rose 75 points (.98%).
IMF upgraded UK 2025 economic growth to 1.6%.
EU CPI data for December showed inflation unchanged from November at 2.4%. Core inflation was also unchanged at 2.7%.
In the US, the DOW rose 334 points (.77%), the NBI rose less than a point (.01%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 291 points (1.51%) and the Russell small cap index rose 9 points (.40%).
Note that the NBI hardly moved in a positive market - Biotech sector not following the upward trends.
BITCOIN surged overnight to record highs.
