It goes without saying that anyone should be skeptical of what one reads about spec stocks on Hotcopper. If I buy a used car from a dealer, or owner, which I have done over the years, I will listen to what they say and I will draw on other sources like getting a vehicle inspection done. Can buying a used car be comparable to buying a spec biotech stock? With a car you should consider the reputation of the car brand, which usually isnt to hard. Typically the salesperson is not known so there credibility is suspect. You look at the history of the car, its ownership, mileage, service history and its presentation. You get a vehicle inspection to assess wear and tear. The decision is yours wether the car is what you want and the price is fair. Inevitably its a risky process, you could be misled or mistaken about some aspect of the deal.
Imugene is developing drugs. Its been in phase 1 for its 3 leading candidates. We are waiting for updates on the progress of these trials which are expected over the next 6 months. The results will make or break the company for the forseeable future. At this stage probably no one knows if the results are going to lead to share appreciation. Everyone is making calculated guesses. I dont know what is about to happen, but considering the potential it seems a reasonable gamble at current prices. To a degree I trust the people involved or I dont distrust them to a significant degree even though mistakes have been made.
You dont want to sell the stock higher, I would guess you want it lower. What qualifies you to value this stock? Why should anyone listen to you, what makes your guess any more credible than the up rampers? There is a lot of complexity about the value of IMU, probably the safest position is to be negative about its prospects for success.
The last used car I bought was about 12 years ago. In hindsight I paid at least 10% more than what it was worth then. It isnt worth much now but we have had a good run with it and it is still going strong.
