The FTSE rose 89 points (1.04%), the DAX rose 93 points (.43%) and the CAC rose 69 points (.88%).
ECB cut EU interest rates by .25%.
EU economy grew by .7% in 2024. Germany contracted by .2%. Spain grew by .8% and was the only country of the big 4 EU economies to grow.
US markets were all up overnight - though fairly modestly.
The DOW rose 168 points (.38%), the NBI rose 39 points (.89%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 49 points (.25%) and the Russell small cap index rose 24 points (1.07%).
US Bureau of Economic Analysis put out an advance estimate of US 4th quarter GDP which showed the US economy grew by 2.3% in 2024. This was below the expected 2.6% growth rate. US Treasury 10 year bond rate fell to 4.519%
Oil prices edged up to US$75.94 per barrel.
Precious metal prices rose - Gold is sitting at US$2,797 per oz.
BITCOIN rose to $104,919.
