The ongoing, well at least current trials will only reveal./confirm (after another 12-18-24 months) what Azer-Cel can do in third line therapy.
Because, like it or not, there is currently nothing to suggest that the 60 who are currently cured by SOC will also be cured by azer-cell as first - line therapy. Nothing - no data- no-one knows.
You may run a first-in line trial of Azer-Cel and get 50% cure rate or it may be 75% cure rate - but greater toxicity (than SOC). Who knows?
This is why in order to displace the SOC, you need to run a trial with two arms, one with SOC (first line) and another getting AzerCell and then display a significant increase in efficacy/safety as first -in line.
They (BP or doctors administering this stuff) won't say, wow Azer Cell gets 57% Cr therefore if we move it to first line, it will get 4/5 of people cured, we could do better with that. It just doesn't work that way, cause cancer is so complex and differing stuff happens, when poeple are given somethign first. It is just so complicated and multifactorial.
And as I said to someone earlier, in the thread, with Azer-cell, there are three diferent chemos being trialled, with it, so there is toxicity involved (no perhaps not as much as R-Chop as first in line - in fact I dont know though)
