The FTSE fell 54 points (.62%), the DAX fell 410 points (1.80%) and the CAC fell 96 points (1.17%).
UK inflation increased to 3% in January. This is up from 2.5% in December.
Europe is getting more concerned about any Ukraine deal - not sure how this will affect the stock markets. Denmark is the latest country in the EU to announce an increase in military spending with a $7bil increase in military expenditure.
In Australia, the RBA cut interest rates by .25% but comments made indicate that o more cuts will be made in the short term.
In the US, the DOW rose 71 points (.16%), the NBI rose 41 points (.92%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 14 points (.075%) and the Russell small cap index fell 7 points (.34%).
US Fed minutes for their January meeting were released revealing that most central bank officials supported holding fiscal policy at restricted levels. It would appear that any interest rate cuts are on hold.
"Many participants noted that the Committee could hold the policy rate at a restrictive level if the economy remained strong and inflation remained elevated, while several remarked that policy could be eased if labor market conditions deteriorated, economic activity faltered, or inflation returned to 2 percent more quickly than anticipated,"
Trump announced new 25% tariffs on imports of cars, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals.
German government stated the new tariffs will increase European car prices in the US.
