The FTSE rose 2 points (.025%), the DAX rose 29 points (.13%) and the CAC rose 37 points (.50%).
US markets were mixed overnight though largely in positive territory.
The DOW rose 114 points (.28%), the NBI rose 53 points (1.29%), the NASDAQ Composite fell 16 points (.097%) and the Russell small cap index rose 7 points (.41%).
US markets have a couple of things pulling in different directions that are affecting sentiment.
Markets are buoyed by Trump easing pressure on UD Fed's chair Jerome Powell and apparent lessening of trade tensions with China - Trump comments hinting that there i a "light at the end of the tunnel".
Earnings season starts this week in the US and there are worries that companies will be downgrading future estimates on earnings.
US Treasury 10 year bond yied is slightly down to 4.21%
Oil prices slipped - Brent crude is at US$64.56 per barrel.
Gold price rose marginally to US$3,343 per oz.
BITCOIN edged lower to US$94,435.
