There have been a range of emotions passing through these threads over the past few months, fron disappointment to anger and in some cases developing into outright hostility.
Investors often go all these emotions and more, including despair and depression, and while I definitely feel for these people and what they are going through it must be conceeded that very valuable lessons have been learnt along the way.
The very first being that we have invested in a speculative biotechnology company, that presents a zero sum game, that is it could make you very rich or very poor depending on your circumstances.
Looking to other companies in this space we can see many other investors thinking the same of the companies that they have put their hard earned cash into, and yet it must be said many of them have very few irons in the fire, in fact many are not in the space that we currently preside which is in very
difficult to treat cancers, often in patients already failed 5-6 lines of therapy, and we are developing very expensive treatments.
If this was a mining company many investors would already be out of here, but due to the hope that this company can potentially cure certain cancers after other treatments have failed we hang on in the hope that this will be successful, oh and of course there are those of us hoping to recoup some of our investment.
Paul Hopper reminded us in the question and answer webinar that we have not had a failure in our Ph1 or Ph2 trials and we are still trying to recruit in other centres so that we can get our numbers up.
The only disappointment for me with this webinar and the follow up letter was that this type of franķ discussion didn't occur sooner, in some cases Leslie did did ahead of herself and her exuberance got us a little too excited bringing on further purchases.
Data is our only saviour as that will bring on a licensing deal or potential buyout, our only other hope is a billionaire benefactor who as we have, believes this story.
