The FTSE fell 2 points (.024%), the DAX rose 72 points (.31%) and the CAC rose 23 points (.30%).
Dat for UK showed that the labour market was cooling with average earnings growth declining by 5.6%.
UK Unemployment rose to 4.5%.
US markets were mixed overnight.
The DOW fell 269 points (.64%), the NBI fell 77 points (1.90%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 301 points (1.61%) and the Russell small cap index rose 10 points (.49%).
US April CPI data showed an increase of 2.3% inflation (down from 2.4% in March).
No indication that tariffs are affecting inflation at the moment though bigger ticket items like furniture and motor vehicles are rising and will affect future CPI data.
Core inflation is steady at 2.8%
US Treasury 10 year bond yield rose slightly to 4.475%
Oil prices up - Brent crude now at US$66.50 per barrel.
Gold price recovered some ground and is at US$3,252 per oz.
BITCOIN rose to US$104,526.
