Yep......you are right. My advanced cancer diagnosis about 6 years ago plus my dear wife's recurrence of breast ncancer and the loss of several of my aged friends to various cancers drove me to move from fairly successful investments (mining, banks, industrials etc) into the risky healthcare sector. Of course I realised the risk but I was very interested in learning more about cancer and the possibilities for cancer cures........... hence my investment in IMU. At the time I was very impressed with both Yuman and Lesley. My faith in Lesley has faded somewhat but not to the extent being promoted by many posters ........ my belief in Yuman remains intact.
I agree with your statement that many investors losing in IMU will be turned off biotechs......... especially those focussing on cancer........and that most of the companies in that space are not doing well. But also many IMU investors were in it only for the potential of enormous financial profits from cancer curing and can no doubt see that there are other companies on the ASX that are fighting terrible diseases out there that can produce huge profits . Once again my interests have been driven by a family member and close friends who have battled neurodegenerative diseases.......stroke, Parkinsons, Alzeimers, MSA etc and cardiac problems. At the risk of being labelled an upramper I can nominate Argenta Therapeutics (AGN), Alterity Therapeutics (ATH). These are small companies with excellent progress and very happy HC posters. And I believe there are many others .
Of the 3 camps you mentioned, I am for number 3.
