    I guess you need to know why these deals take place and what is the relationship between the lender and borrower, its not a straight forward dealings, loans absolutely do generate income for the lender, Every time Hopper pays interest on its debt facility, that cash flow goes straight to Macquarie’s P&L. Even though it’s a borrower’s “expense,” for the lender it’s core revenue, its called net interest income, If Macquarie underwrote or advised on Hopper’s debt or equity raises they picked up underwriting fees and advisory mandates on top of pure lending, everything happens around this in "banking language" is complete transactional, if anybody thinks its just lend and forget, they just need to learn a bit more...
