Looking at LC’s comments about the future, in the event that IMU enters into a R&D collaboration deal with a large enterprise, it will be interesting to see what commercial features drive that deal. Will the new Dr Shah be involved in creating it with LC - presumably yes. Will IMU need additional R&D facilities, production line, capacity to bring to international markets either through its own manufacture in Australia (maybe a facility with a grant from the Federal Govt) or elsewhere under licence to others?
If they retain control over development of the IP string then under a commercial jv/partnership we would see one or possibly two parties sign up to an exclusive deal with IMU and fund to an agreed level with key performance and payment milestones. Could be another smaller company with complementary IP and a BP or maybe a BP from the US and one from Europe.
Yes a takeover sits there as well (hostile or not) or as a scheme of arrangement where they merge.
LC covered all possibilities in her last dialogue. But it all rests on the science.
