This is a really interesting topic & we discussed this a while ago in relation to Big Pharma’s “greening” their patents, & for Merck (MSD) Keytruda is a massive financial asset, you can’t see them wanting to let that go & how many Keynote trials have they got running in different indications presently?

Herceptin (Roche Genentech) is another one now off patent for biosimilars, which in-itself is really big business.

The competition in new immunotherapies for cancer has risen dramatically & with IMU’s platforms & potential blockbuster combination therapies, that we are going into trials with now with multiple BP, would this not assist with that patent cliff? I have no legal background, but I do read quite a bit.

If you have anything to add to that from your prior experience, I would be interested to read & I think that this is exactly what you were referring to in your post above.
