Global markets were largely up overnight.
In Europe, the FTSE was up 46 points (.62%), the DAX rose 133 points (.86%) and the CAC was up 23 points (.33%).
UK October CPI data for October showed UK inflation fell to 4.6% (lowest level since 2021) down from 6.7% in September. The UK inflation figure was 10.7% in December 2022. October core inflation was 5.7%.
In the US, the DOW rose 163 points (.47%), the NBI fell 7 points (.19%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 9 points (.067%) and the Russell small cap index rose 4 points (.23%). US markets generally flat after yesterday's big rises.
Data out showed US retail sales declined in October by .1% (first decline since March). This was still lower that the market expectation of .3%.
US treasury 10 year bond yield is down to 4.44%.
Oil prices fell - Brent crude at US$80.95.
