I hope you're right.
The thing going against your theory is the company's track record. "communication and lack of direction" and letting the SP freefall without action have been their hallmark for years. There have been many occasions, like now, where they have not reassured SHs in any way, in the face of much feet stamping. In fact the chair and ceo have written letters to SHs blaming them instead of reassuring them.
As I say, hopefully this time is different, but history is not on the side of that argument.
