From AFR – "Utility stocks also recorded sharp losses, down 1.6 per cent. AGL Energy dropped 3.8 per cent after broker Macquarie downgraded the stock to a “neutral” rating from “outperform”.
The reason for that is that Mac are pulling back on the profit forecast.
From all other sides, AGL is looking to go gangbusters through till 2025, based on increased prices, demand and better capital equipment. Mike Cannon-Brookes has thrown support behind AGL’s increased carbon ambitions but intends to ramp up engagement and press for even earlier coal plant closures.
