hi, I dislike aukus a lot , and I don't think we would be in it if the alp had been in power a couple of years earlier. it seems to be much less structured to drag us into war than anzus though. my enthusiasm for the defence procurement changes are because they are aimed at defense of Australia . subs, missiles , air forces , are all useful at repelling a naval attack , which is the only real way of deterring an invasion. they are not as useful for supporting US adventures.
