Yes, but at the GFC low of circa $18 it had all of the S32 assets as well, most of which were profitable at the time. S32 stripped about $2/share off BHP, so the comparative GFC low is circa $16.
I am not a shorter, nor do I bucket them for any reason. I sold out 4 months ago and am looking to get back in. Ppl's opinion in here is a reasonable measure of market sentiment, so valuable to me as a guide for when I should jump back in
Naked statements like "its way oversold" or "too expensive" with no backing argument is school-yard "yes it is, no it isn't" obstinacy. Calling the bottom is blind bravado. On the other hand, ppl's logical arguments are invaluable (and I thank you for them) as it gives an investor something to actually consider.
