Why is biotech not supported adequately?
Easy
1. Generally speaking it requires a measure of intelligence to understand - rules out 95% off the bat!
2. It's not election cycle friendly, being long-term, so that fact and point "1" again rules out 99.9% of pollies - dumb and often shallow!
3. It's not sexy to do the hard yards, either on the science side or the get it to market side [business/investor side], it takes heaps of time and again requires some intelligence, so 95% of the total population are excluded outright......that's why, the only time you'll likely see a politician backing biotech, is when a new and none-too-common research facility is to open, a once in a generation breakthrough treatment -is launched, which the pollie would like you to believe they themselves toiled at for years to achieve, when a "cancer moonshot" is launched etc etc etc....then the second that's done, their looking for the next football stadium to build, because that's where the 95% are gathered.....this week, waiting to be spoon feed!
