Some great ideas and comments here on this thread and the Activism thread too. As an ex-holder I'm keeping my powder dry for a re-entry point.
But on that point > I think its safe to assume we are all here to make money. So why buy now (or why top up) when you can buy later?
I don't think you need a crystal ball to know that the results in August are going to be bad.
IMO I think the results are going to be worse than the market expects.
Consumer discretionary is doing it super tough. This sub-segment (fragrances and gifts) especially so.
A couple of red flags:To make a controversial statement > we are the dumb money (me included). They are the smart money.
- No insider buying > Big red flag.
- No institutional buying since 2/4/24 > Big red flag.
If the smart money is not buying > what does that say?
The only conclusion I can draw is that the business outlook is poor and the SP is heading lower.
Waiting for either Regal to top up in a meaningful way, or management to put some serious skin in the game.
Until then.. I'm staying on the sidelines..
