Today's announcement shows that HIG has a circa 10% interest in the Ramu project where the Chinese have spent $1 billion of a $1.4 billion budget.
How much is 10% of $1.4 billion?
Further, production is due to start later this year, with HIG's share being worth about $20 million per year.
The Freida River feasibility study is progressing well and is being funded by XTrata.
HIG has $28 million in cash.
And HIG's market cap?
A paltry $65 million.
Free carried in 2 huge projects and $28 million in cash in a time when cash is king. M.C. $65 million. Only shortcoming is perceived political risk in PNG.
Am I missing something here? Just wish I had more money to invest!
