re: re:charlie: why is howard admired? Donnyboy. Unlike you and your ilk, I use a balanced approach to matters political. I am aware that a continous political ascendancy that the Federal Liberal Party has achieved under Howard is not COMPLETLEY due to his stewardship. That is not, in any way, to understate his achievement in retaining power for such a relatively long period.

It has been achieved with the help of an incompetent opposition (how could any party even consider electing a person so unsuited to the 'highest office inthe land' as Mark Latham) and minority parties that, as one wit said, 'belong to the bottom of the fairy garden' (that includes the Greens as well as the Democrats.

I hope this explanation has not taxed your brain too severely.
