Gold and Lihir, Newcrest etc are hedges. Buy cheap and hold.
Last week IMF predicted big market falls. US fell 200 points last night. If more falls next week then will gold jump as a hedge? If gold jumps then Lihir eventually follows. Good volatile stock for short term trading.
